The contributions of alumni from the Faculty of Medicine, Diponegoro University (FK Undip), continue to demonstrate a tangible impact on the national healthcare sector. One notable figure is Dr. Agus Ujianto, M.Si.Med., Sp.B., an alumnus of the Specialist Doctor Education Program (PPDS) in Surgery at FK Undip, who currently serves as the President Director of RSI Sultan Agung Semarang.

Equipped with strong clinical training and a solid foundation of professionalism cultivated during his education at FK Undip, Dr. Agus has grown not only as a skilled surgeon but also as a hospital leader with a strong managerial and innovative vision.

From Clinical Practice to Hospital Leadership

In his role as President Director, Dr. Agus is committed to developing RSI Sultan Agung into a leading hospital that integrates high-quality medical services, professional governance, and ethical values. The principles of decisive, measured, and accountable decision-making—instilled during his specialist training—have become the foundation of his leadership.

According to him, the PPDS program at FK Undip not only builds technical surgical competence but also fosters critical thinking, mental resilience, and the courage to make decisions in complex situations, both clinical and managerial.

Managerial and Organizational Track Record

Prior to leading RSI Sultan Agung, Dr. Agus had extensive experience in hospital management. He previously served as Director of RSI Banjarnegara, where he successfully introduced various service innovations, including strengthening healthcare delivery systems amid the limitations and challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition, he has been actively involved in professional organizations and networks, including serving as Chairman of the Alumni Association of Sultan Agung Islamic University (IKA Unissula) and as the founder and driving force behind the Indonesian Integrated Digital Doctors Association (PREDIGTI). Innovation and Social Commitment

As a surgeon trained at FK Undip, Dr. Agus is widely recognized for his strong commitment to improving access to healthcare services, particularly in underserved areas. He has been actively engaged in various social initiatives and community development programs aimed at enhancing the quality of life of patients with physical limitations.

At the same time, his interest in advancing modern medical science has driven his involvement in research and innovation, including strengthening clinical research and developing cell-based biological therapies, while adhering to scientific principles and medical ethics.

Dr. Agus continues to study cell biology and cell therapy through global communities such as the International Society of Stem Cell Application (ISSCA) and the International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR). This involvement led him to establish the Autohemotherapy and Cell Unit Research Everlasting community.

Furthermore, he has contributed to academic discourse by writing books and proposing policy recommendations regarding the legalization of autologous stem cell therapy as part of surgical competencies. He advocates for minimal manipulation standards with high-quality benchmarks to advance personalized and precision medicine, particularly in the treatment of degenerative diseases and anti-aging therapies.

FK Undip Education as a Career Foundation

The Specialist Surgical Education at FK Undip has been a pivotal milestone in Dr. Agus’s career journey. The academic environment, which emphasizes evidence-based medicine, scientific discipline, multidisciplinary collaboration, and community service, has shaped a professional character that is adaptive to change.
