Nur Syarifah, S.H., LL.M. is an Indonesian legal professional and senior public official known for her contributions to strengthening regulatory governance, institutional integrity, and public policy in the education and government sectors. She is an alumna of the Faculty of Law at Universitas Diponegoro (class of 1987), graduating with a Bachelor of Law degree in 1991. She later pursued her graduate studies at Leiden University in the Netherlands, where she earned a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Business Law in 1999.

 

Currently, Nur Syarifah serves as an Expert Staff for Regulatory Affairs at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemendikbudristek). In this strategic role, she contributes to strengthening the national education regulatory framework, including involvement in shaping the Merdeka Belajar (Freedom to Learn) policy, which promotes a more adaptive, inclusive, and sustainable education system.

 

Previously, she held key positions in several state institutions, including serving as Head of the Technical and Public Relations Bureau at the General Elections Commission of the Republic of Indonesia (KPU RI) and as a Member of the Supervisory Board of Public Service Agencies (BLU). As chair of the supervisory board, she played a proactive role in ensuring the implementation of good governance principles, particularly in preventing corruption, collusion, and nepotism (KKN), while upholding integrity, transparency, accountability, and professionalism in decision-making. She also emphasized the importance of avoiding conflicts of interest in public service.

 

In addition to her government roles, Nur Syarifah is actively involved in professional organizations. She serves as a Board Advisor for Legal Affairs and Strategic Cooperation at the Indonesian Procurement Experts Association (IAPI), contributing to the development of effective and accountable procurement governance in Indonesia.

 

Her engagement in education and public policy is further reflected in her participation in national forums. In 2024, she was a speaker at the Adiwiyata Award, representing Kemendikbudristek in promoting a commitment to sustainable and environmentally friendly education.

 

With a strong academic background, extensive institutional experience, and a firm commitment to integrity and bureaucratic reform, Nur Syarifah continues to play a significant role in advancing regulatory systems and public governance in Indonesia.
