Amid the hustle and bustle of campus life, some students choose to be active in organizations, others focus on academic achievements, and some begin building their early careers. It is rare to find someone who can balance all three excellently while continuously leaving an inspiring mark. However, this does not apply to Eva Ardiana Indrariani, S.S., M.Hum., an alumna of the Indonesian Literature Program at the Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Diponegoro. Her story is a true manifestation of the popular Arabic proverb, “Man Jadda Wa Jadda” whoever strives will succeed.
The name Eva Ardiana Indrariani, S.S., M.Hum. is certainly familiar within the academic community of Universitas Diponegoro, especially at the Faculty of Humanities. This Indonesian Literature alumna is far from ordinary. Her journey vividly illustrates how dedication, active involvement, and a strong drive for achievement during her university years have led her to strategic positions and the highest levels of education.
During her studies in Indonesian Literature at FIB Undip, Eva was known as a student with seemingly boundless energy. She actively participated in various student organizations, engaging directly in initiatives that honed her leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Despite her organizational commitments, she maintained excellent academic performance, demonstrating her ability to effectively manage time between organizational responsibilities and academic demands.
Beyond campus, Eva also dedicated her time to self-development. She worked as a tutor at a tutoring center, applying her knowledge of language and literature to help students reach their full potential. At the same time, her research aptitude was nurtured early on. She frequently assisted lecturers as an assistant in the BIP program and contributed to various research projects valuable experiences that deepened her understanding of research methodology and data analysis long before pursuing postgraduate studies.
“My principle was that I came to Semarang to study, so I set a target to complete my degree and continue to the next level. Balancing studies, organizational activities, teaching, and assisting research was indeed challenging, but it shaped me into a more resilient person ready to face future challenges. Man Jadda Wa Jadda I believe every sincere effort, no matter how small, will yield results,” she recalled.
After earning her Bachelor of Arts (S.S.) and Master of Humanities (M.Hum.), Eva continued to demonstrate her commitment to education and academic development. Currently serving as the Head of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Program at Universitas PGRI Semarang, she is now pursuing her doctoral (Ph.D.) studies at Universitas Sebelas Maret. Alongside her studies, she is also actively involved in various professional associations, including serving as a secretary at the national level.
Her role as Head of Program is not merely a position but a significant responsibility to enhance educational quality, develop curricula, and guide students who will become future Indonesian language and literature teachers. Eva’s leadership at Universitas PGRI Semarang reflects her strong academic and managerial capabilities, built upon years of experience and learning since her university days.
Becoming a Head of Program at a relatively young age, as well as being an Undip alumna, is a source of pride for her alma mater. Eva proves that graduates of Indonesian Literature have the capacity to become adaptive and visionary academic leaders.
Dr. Sukarjo Waluyo, M.Hum., Head of the Indonesian Literature Program at FIB Undip, expressed his best wishes for Eva’s continued studies. He also appreciated her dedication and fully supports the role of alumni across various fields. He hopes that strong alumni networks will inspire and enhance the achievements of other Indonesian Literature students, encouraging them to excel and bring pride to both themselves and their alma mater.
