Bhisma Wijaya Mulia (born December 22, 1996) is an Indonesian actor. He is best known for his role as Jatmiko in the film Sobat Ambyar (2021), which earned him the Indonesian Movie Actors Awards 2021 and the Piala Maya 2021.
Bhisma is an only child who grew up in Semarang, Central Java. His father was a volleyball athlete. He attended SMA Negeri 4 Semarang, where he was active in swimming. However, due to an accident that caused a fracture in his right leg, he decided not to pursue his dream of becoming an athlete.
Since childhood, Bhisma had enjoyed watching movies, which sparked his interest in cinema. While still in high school, he was once offered a role in a television soap opera but declined, choosing instead to focus on his studies until he graduated from university, following his parents’ advice.
After finishing high school, Bhisma pursued higher education at the Faculty of Law, Diponegoro University, starting in 2012 and graduating in 2016. According to the Indonesian Higher Education Database, he was once registered as a student in the Bachelor’s program in Management at Soegijapranata Catholic University, but his status was listed as “inactive.”
Bhisma made his big-screen debut in 2018, playing the character Hisyam in Moonrise Over Egypt. In 2020, he was announced as the lead actor, portraying Jatmiko, in Sobat Ambyar, a film inspired by the songs of Didi Kempot. The film was released as a Netflix original in 2021. His performance in the film won him two awards: Best Leading Actor at the Indonesian Movie Actors Awards 2021 and Selected Breakthrough Actor at the Piala Maya 2021.
In 2021, Bhisma played Dadang in the RCTI+ original film 4 Sekawan Sebelum Dunia Terbalik. His acclaimed performance in Sobat Ambyar also caught the attention of Bumilangit Studios, leading to his role in the inaugural web series of the Bumilangit Cinematic Universe, Tira.
