Alvin Lie Ling Piao (born April 21, 1961), commonly known as Alvin Lie, is a member of the National Mandate Party (PAN) who served as a member of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR-RI) for two terms, 1999–2004 and 2004–2009, representing the Central Java and Semarang City electoral districts. He later served as a Member of the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia for the 2016–2021 term. In addition to his public service, Alvin Lie is active as a parliamentary relations consultant, an aviation observer, and an entrepreneur.

Alvin Lie was born on April 21, 1961, in Semarang, Central Java. He is the son of Lie Ay Yen, a Semarang-based entrepreneur (owner of Mickey Mouse). He completed his primary and secondary education in Semarang before continuing his upper secondary education at the Anglo Chinese School in Singapore.

His higher education includes a Master of Science degree in Public Administration from Diponegoro University and a Master of Science in International Marketing from The University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Scotland. In 2022, Alvin Lie successfully completed his doctoral studies (Ph.D.) in Environmental Science at Diponegoro University, Semarang. He is married to Inawati Rahardjo and has three children.

Throughout his career, Alvin Lie has held several key positions, including Member of the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia, Parliamentary Relations Consultant, and Member of the DPR-RI for the 2004–2009 term (Commission VII) and the 1999–2004 term (Commission V).

Alvin Lie also received the Upakarti Award on behalf of Mickey Mouse from the Government of Indonesia in 1990, in recognition of his contributions to industry and entrepreneurship.
