Dr. Ir. H. Ruksamin, ST., M.Si., IPU., ASEAN.Eng

 

(born March 14, 1973) is an Indonesian politician. He has served as the Regent of North Konawe for the periods 2016–2021 and 2021–2025.

He was born into a modest family in the northernmost village of Basule, Lasolo District, North Konawe Regency. His parents worked as a teacher and a farmer. He pursued his early education at Tinobu Elementary School, graduating in 1985, followed by Tinobu Junior High School in 1988, and then Wawotobi Senior High School in 1991. He later attended the Muslim University of Indonesia (UMI) in Makassar, majoring in Chemical Engineering (Bachelor’s degree/S1), and graduated in 1997. During his college years, he went around selling newspapers door to door to support his living and educational expenses.

He went on to earn a Master’s degree in Management (S2) from Halu Oleo University (UHO), Kendari, in 2010. He obtained his Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Public Administration from Diponegoro University (UNDIP), Semarang, in 2015, and completed the Professional Engineer Program at the Faculty of Industrial Technology, UMI, in 2017.

Ruksamin worked as a teacher at Wawotobi Senior High School from 2000 to 2001. He later became a member of the Konawe Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) from 2004 to 2007, Chairman of the North Konawe DPRD from 2007 to 2009, Deputy Chairman I of the North Konawe DPRD from 2009 to 2011, and Deputy Regent of North Konawe from 2011 to 2016. He also serves as the Chairman of the Diponegoro University Alumni Association for Southeast Sulawesi.
