Taufik Kurniawan was born in Semarang, November 22, 1967. Taufik was successfully elected for the third time as a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives for the 2014-2019 period from the National Mandate Party (PAN) for the Central Java VII Electoral District (Purbalingga, Banjarnegara and Kebumen) after obtaining 59,945 votes. In the 2009-2014 period, Taufik served as Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives and served on Commission V which oversees transportation, public housing, public works and development of villages and underdeveloped areas.
Taufik Kurniawan is an alumnus of Diponegoro University. Taufik completed his undergraduate studies in chemical engineering, faculty of engineering, Diponegoro University (1992), master’s program in management, Diponegoro University (1995) and Doctoral Program in Economics, Diponegoro University (2014)
Taufik is known to be very fond of and active in organizations. He began his career in politics by serving as a member of the Gajah Mungkur National Mandate Party, Semarang as secretary of the Central Java PAN DPW.
